Welcome!
Although public safety is our job, it is the responsibility of
everyone at the University. Through programs of education,
information, and active police and security presence we endeavor to
ensure that students, faculty, and staff are free from safety
distractions so that they may learn, teach, and conduct research.
Creative and informative crime prevention, fire prevention, and
international travel safety programs, which are available on this
site, represent efforts to provide a customer service to meet
contemporary needs. We welcome the opportunity to serve as well as
receive suggestions from members of the community. |

2009 Click It or Ticket Campaign
The OSU Police Division is partnering with more than 900 local law enforcement agencies in Ohio by participating in the 2009 Click It or Ticket Campaign,
which runs through May 31st. OSU Police will foster awareness of seatbelt laws through education and increased enforcement. The data is clear, seatbelts save lives.
In 2008 there were 414 fatalities on Ohio's roads where motorists or passengers were unbelted. Ohio's seat belt use rate is approximately 83 percent.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently estimated that Ohio would save 57 lives, 1,386 serious injuries and $263 million in costs each year
if the seat belt use rate went up by seven percentage points (to 90 percent).
Please remember to buckle up and drive safe.
